The chat service WhatsApp is currently testing an extensive search function that allows you to search for messages, but also photos, gifs and audio, among other things.
In an upcoming update for the beta version of WhatsApp, according to the site, there is a screen in which multiple search functions are offered. It contains buttons for links, photos, gifs, audio, documents and videos.
After pressing one of the buttons, search results are filtered according to the type of media chosen. A search for photos or videos also provides an example of the files found. It is possible to enter other search terms and thus filter the search further.
The WABetaInfo site, which regularly brings news about new WhatsApp functions, expects that the search function will soon be available in the iOS beta version of WhatsApp.
It is not yet clear when the function appears in the regular version of WhatsApp.
