UKIP Members Vote to Sack Henry Bolton as Leader
UKIP Members Vote to Sack Henry Bolton as Leader. The leader of the British populist party UKIP has been deposed. Henry Bolton was under fire because his then-girlfriend had spread racist texts about the fiancée of Prince Harry, Meghan Markle.
The 54-year-old Bolton had been party leader for less than five months. He came under fire from reports of his new flame, the 25-year-old Jo Marney.
Bolton now called former girlfriend Markle among other things ‘a black American who will infect the royal family with her offspring.’ She also wrote that she would never go to bed with ‘negroes because they would be too ugly.’
The British Eurosceptic party thus loses its fifth leader in a year and a half. Bolton met Marney just before Christmas. He immediately left his 42-year-old wife and two children.
In addition to the racist messages from his new beloved, UKIP politicians also find this issue difficult to cope with. The party wants to hold an election for a new leader within three months.
