Trump: Arming Teachers can Prevent Shooting Incidents

President Donald Trump believes that arming teachers can help prevent shooting incidents such as at a Florida school last week. There, a former student shot seventeen people last week.

“If you have a teacher who is familiar with weapons, it could end an attack very quickly,” Trump said during a White House interview with students, teachers, and parents of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. Trump promised that he would emphasize monitoring one’s past and mental health.

The president also immediately admitted that the plan could not simply be introduced. “We are going to look very closely at it, many people will be against it, and I think many people will also like it.”

Trump also listened to students who begged for a change in weapons legislation. He let it be known to deal with armed violence in American schools. Trump wants to emphasize the control of someone’s past and mental health. “We are going to put a lot of effort into tracking down backgrounds, we are doing very decisively, and we will be strictly supervising the state of mind.”

On Tuesday, Trump also supported the bill to ban so-called ‘bump stocks.’ These are weapon accessories with which semi-automatic rifles can fire very quickly after each other.
