A Danish Tourist Killed in Balloon Accident Turkey
A Danish tourist was killed in Turkey when the hot air balloon in which he was crashed. The pilot of the balloon suffered a heart attack during the voyage.
According to the Turkish newspaper Milliyet, the accident happened in Anatolia, the Asian part of Turkey. The balloon runs above the central region of Cappadocia. This area is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is very touristy.
Because the pilot was unwell, the balloon made a lot of hard landing. The 54-year-old Dane thereby seriously injured. In the hospital he died. He had, according to the newspaper several fractures and a punctured lung.
A hot air balloon is a popular attraction among tourists. The newspaper did not mention whether the pilot is still alive and whether other crew members were on board the balloon.
