WSJ: IBM Wants to Pay $ 5 Billion for Apptio

IBM would be about to take over the software company Apptio. Confirmation may come early this week.

According to Wall Street Journal sources, the deal is close to being finalized, and IBM would pay $5 billion for it, though it’s unclear whether that’s with or without debt.

Neither company has formally commented.

Apptio focuses, among other things, on hybrid business management software in the cloud and is currently owned by Vista Equity Partners, which acquired the company in 2018 for just under 2 billion dollars.
