Nearly 50 Cats Rescued from Parked Car in Minnesota

In the US state of Minnesota, 47 cats have been rescued from a parked car, where they lived with their owner. The owner had previously dropped off fourteen other cats that were in the car at an animal shelter.

Animal aid organization Animal Humane Society (AHS) took action after a report about the dozens of cats in Chisago County.

“Despite the extreme heat and unsanitary conditions in the vehicle, most cats appear to have only minor medical issues,” the organization said.

The cats, which have been handed over to AHS by their owners, will undergo a medical check-up and will later enter the adoption process after sterilization.

The youngest animal is less than a year old, the oldest at least 12 years old. The owner has also received medical attention.
