KFC Australia is Struggling With Lettuce Shortage, Customers Complain About Cabbage Mix

Fast food chain KFC is struggling with a shortage of lettuce in Australia and has therefore adapted recipes in a number of stores.

As a result, customers receive a mix of lettuce and cabbage with a chicken burger instead of just lettuce. This is being complained about on social media.

“The fact that you’re replacing lettuce with cabbage makes me rethink my entire visit to KFC. It’s such a weird choice,” said one disgruntled customer on Twitter. “It feels like a sign of the end of the world,” said another.

According to KFC, the shortage of lettuce is caused by flooding in the east of the country. Experts also point to the Russian invasion of Ukraine that has pushed up the price of fertilizer and fuel.
