British Prime Minister Boris Johnson says the IPCC report on global warming should be a “wake-up call” for the world. He stressed in a statement that the next decade is crucial for the future of the planet.

The prime minister says it is clear which measures must be taken to combat climate change. “Stop using coal and switch to clean energy sources. Protect nature.”

He also advocated financial support for countries affected by global warming.

A major climate summit will be held this autumn in the United Kingdom. Johnson expressed the hope that countries will decide to act before the start of that “critical” conference in Glasgow.
