What to Eat and Drink in Hot Weather? The mercury rises to tropical temperatures this week, and that means a lot of puffing, sweating and often sleeping less well. All day in the water is not an option for many of us. So what can we do to keep our head, body, and mood cool these days?
With these eating and drinking tips, you will be well on these hot days.
Of the Season
Choose from seasonal fruits and vegetables, such as asparagus, different kinds of slices, radishes, Arugula, cucumbers, spinach and sea crystals. A meal salad is always good with warm weather. Give this an extra bite by adding nuts, seeds, legumes, eggs, feta cheese, goat cheese or cold paste.
For fruit, there are plenty of cherries, raspberries, pears, watermelon, and berries.
Tip: freeze some crushed fruit and then put it in the blender with some milk, yogurt or ice cream.
Cold Soup
Often we think of soup in winter, but nothing is better than a cold soup in warm weather. Surprised from Spain, gazpacho soup is simple. There are several variants of gazpacho, of which the basic tomato is, such as with cucumber, parsley, shallots, mint and crème fraîche.
Avocado, zucchini, carrot, and melon also lend them well to make a refreshing soup. Also, gazpacho often contains peppers, onion, garlic, and cucumber. You can combine it with you, for example with melon or beetles.
Drink Enough
In addition to healthy eating, sufficient drinking is important in hot weather. You lose a lot of moisture, even if you do not sweat. Drink alcohol to the extent and avoid as much soda as possible. Here is a lot of sugar.
Make sure you always have a carafe of water nearby. Do you find water boring? Then add some lime, lemon, mint, cucumber, and ginger. Coconut water is also a good thirst lesson. Although you may need a cold drink, hot teas make sure your body cools down.
