More than 70 Migrants Dead in Libya. On the coast of Libya are the bodies washed up on certain 74 migrants. The bodies were there yesterday morning on the beach near the western coastal city of Zawiya.
Which today announced the Libyan Red Cross. Near the bodies is a rotten dinghy found. It is feared that the death toll still rising, because on these boats usually travel up to 120 people.
The Red Cross has distributed pictures of the body bags on the coast.
The smugglers route from Libya to Italy causes many deaths each year. Last year there were more than 4,500, in 2015 almost 2900. The actual number of victims is probably higher.
In January of this year were certainly 228 people died in the crossing. Never before was the death toll in a month so high.
