TikTok Denies Hack After User Data is on the Street

A court in Moscow has fined the Chinese video platform TikTok of 2.6 million rubles, more than 24,000 pounds.

TikTok, part of Chinese tech company ByteDance, was fined for “ not removing calls for minors to argue. ”

Those calls are said to have been made around the recent protest marches in support of detained opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

At the beginning of this month, Twitter was also fined by Russia for allegedly refusing to delete tweets calling for a protest against Navalny’s capture.

Twitter was ordered to pay a total of 8.9 million rubles.
