When it became apparent last month that American media were about to reveal that Donald Trump’s son had a meeting with a Russian advocate, the president’s advisors discussed how to deal with politically sensitive disclosure.
Trump’s advisers wanted Donald Trump junior himself to come up with a statement and that came.
Trump junior agreed to talk to the Russians during the election campaign but said that it was about adoption. Later it appeared that the Russian advocate had promised Trump’s son’s information about Hillary Clinton. He had ears there, then showed emails.
Now, the White House has admitted that the president was involved in drafting that incorrect statement. That while Trump’s lawyer just denied that.
