Prime Minister Boris Johnson Must Strengthen Ties With Joe Biden

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson would do well to focus less on US President Donald Trump and more on his Democratic rival Joe Biden. That writes the British newspaper The Times.

Despite all the US president’s rhetorical support for Brexit and his alleged friendship with Boris Johnson, this relationship has so far been of little use, the paper said.

The Times further writes, “Trump’s disregard for multilateral institutions and the rules-based system of international relations runs counter to many of Britain’s fundamental interests.

In this regard, transatlantic relations would be better served by a Biden presidency, which is committed to working with the allies. All the more reason for Johnson and the Tories to strive to develop a relationship with the Democratic candidate. “

Biden said on Thursday that the United Kingdom should guard peace in Northern Ireland in the Brexit process.

Otherwise, there will be no trade deal with the United States, Biden said. That got him to comment from the British Conservative angle that he is a ‘Boris hater’ and that he should not patronize the prime minister.

Biden responded to a new bill from Johnson that will nullify essential parts of the withdrawal agreement with the EU.
