British Eurosceptic Nigel Farage wants to turn his Brexit party into an anti-lockdown party. “Lockdowns don’t work.
In fact, they cause more damage than they do good,” the Briton wrote in a joint contribution with fellow party member Richard Tice in The Telegraph on Monday.
Farage is committed to “targeted protection” of high-risk groups against the coronavirus, while the rest of society must live primarily everyday lives and develop group immunity. An application has been submitted to rename the Brexit party as Reform UK.
Nigel Farage is the founder of the Brexit party and argues for a clear and seamless division between the United Kingdom and the European Union.
London and Brussels are currently still negotiating a trade agreement for the post-Brexit transition phase. But Brexit is no longer a big issue in the British media.
With his turnaround, Farage now hopes to find supporters among those massively affected by the corona restrictions, thus drawing more attention again.
