European Stock Markets Remain Closed for Christmas

Stock markets across Europe will remain closed on Monday for Christmas. After the long Christmas weekend, most stock markets will reopen on Tuesday, but those in London and Dublin will remain closed.

 

Traders, there are compensating for the fact that Christmas Day fell on a weekend. Those two exchanges will also close earlier at the end of the week because they will close around lunchtime on Friday.

Stock markets in the United States will also remain closed on Monday, as will parts of Asia. However, the stock exchanges in Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai did open as normal on Monday and recorded modest gains.

However, stock markets in Hong Kong and Sydney remained closed.
