British Intelligence: Russian Troops are Making Territorial Gains in Bachmoet

58

Russian troops have recently made significant gains in the eastern Ukrainian city of Bachmut. The British intelligence services report this in a daily update.

In the meantime, the Russians may have advanced into the city’s centre, taking the western bank of the Bachmutka River. This is likely to jeopardize a vital supply route for the Ukrainians.

After the Russians had made little progress in Bachmut since the end of March, the country significantly increased its military presence and deployed more artillery.

The British also consider it possible that tensions between the regular Russian forces and the mercenaries of the Wagner Group have eased and that both sides are working together better again.
