Since the start of the corona outbreak, 2 million infections have been diagnosed in Germany.
On Friday, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the German counterpart of the RIVM, reported that more than 22,300 new corona cases had been reported in the past 24 hours. On Thursday it concerned more than 25,000 new infections.
The total number of confirmed corona cases thus comes to 2,000,958. In addition, the RKI reported 1,113 corona deaths in the past 24 hours. The death toll thus rises to just under 45,000.
On Thursday, it was announced that the German government is considering a curfew to stem the spread of the coronavirus. Public transport may be temporarily shut down to prevent movements and thus infections as much as possible.
The newspaper Bild talked about a mega-lockdown but emphasized that no decisions have been made yet.
