Mother and 7 Children Died in House Fire in France

In the north of France, a house fire killed 7 children of a composite family. The children’s mother also died. The father was rescued from the burning house and is in hospital with severe burns.

 

The cause of the fire is not yet known, and the French authorities have launched an investigation.

In the French municipality of Charly-sur-Marne, east of Paris, a fire broke out in a town house the night from Sunday to Monday. As a result, 7 children and their mothers were killed. The children were between 2 and 14 years old. The age of the mother is unknown.

The father of the composite family was rescued from the burning house. However, he was taken to hospital with severe burns.

The children, 5 girls and 2 boys, and their parents slept on the second floor of the town house. Around 1 a.m., neighbours noticed the fire and alerted the fire department. By morning the fire was extinguished.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. However, the French authorities have launched an investigation.
