The United States has administered just over 85 million doses of corona vaccines through Friday.
At the same time, more than 114 million doses had been delivered, according to data from the US health service CDC.
The agency said more than 55.5 million people had received one or more doses, while just under 29 million Americans had already received a second dose. Nearly 5 million vaccines have been distributed across the country in the past 24 hours.
In total, more than 7 million vaccines have been administered in long-term care facilities. Of all people over 65 in the US, 55 percent have now received at least 1 dose, according to the health service.
CDC director Walensky says a new report shows that the increase in daily deaths has slowed significantly over the past three weeks. That happened after wearing face masks in several places, such as federal buildings, became mandatory.
