The Taliban and their supporters have already killed more than 100 former members of the Afghan security services or other people linked to the previous regime. That is according to a UN report on Monday.

Manua, the UN mission in Afghanistan, says it has received more than 100 credible reports of such killings since the Taliban took power in the Asian country in August last year. More than two-thirds of the cases concern “de facto extrajudicial executions, committed by the authorities or their members”.

“Despite announcements of a blanket amnesty for former members of the government, security forces and people who worked for foreign military personnel, Manua has continued to receive credible reports of murders, enforced disappearances and other crimes committed against these individuals,” the UN secretary’s report said. General Antonio Guterres.

In addition, “human rights activists and media workers continue to be victims of attacks, intimidation, harassment, arbitrary arrests, beatings and murders,” the report said.

The document also mentions severe restrictions on human rights since the Taliban coup. Women’s rights and the right to manifest have significantly deteriorated. According to the UN, this is “an entire social and economic system disappearing”.
