Putin: Navalny Urges People to Join Anti-Corruption Protests. Despite the arrest of opposition leader Alexei Navalny in Moscow is a protest against corruption. Navalny, the initiator of the demonstration, was arrested shortly before the start.

Around the demonstration of opposition leader Alexei Navalny, the tension has risen in Moscow. The police arrested dozens of protesters and attempted to break the demonstration, but that does not work. “The flame has been hit,” says correspondent Jeroen Akkermans.

“The police are trying to prevent more people from joining the demonstration,” said Akkermans. “But they do not control the situation.”

Putin is a Thief:
The demonstration should only proceed under conditions that there would be no banners and that nothing would be scanned. The protesters do not like that. “They call ‘Putin is a thief’ and ‘shame,’ says Akkermans.

The police made it clear to the present protesters with speakers that they should spread, but they do not listen to it.

The authorities had already announced that they would act because the demonstration had been moved to another location without permission.
