New Labor Leader Wants to Work With British Prime Minister Johnson

British Labor party leader Keir Starmer says he wants to work well with the Johnson government in the fight against corona.

He will also support any tightening of the restrictive measures, and he wrote in an article in The Sunday Times after his election yesterday.

“I will often disagree with the Prime Minister on many topics. But there will also be issues on which Labor can and should speak constructively to the government.

As now, the coronavirus is a national emergency. It is also a global emergency. I want the government to succeed in saving lives and protecting jobs. “

Yet Starmer is also critical of the current state of affairs. For example, he wants to know why Britain is “so far behind” when it comes to testing for corona.

He also believes that any congestion in the supply of protective materials to healthcare personnel, such as mouth masks, should be resolved as quickly as possible.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has invited leaders of all opposition parties to discuss the corona crisis. That should take place next week. Johnson is still quarantined with symptoms of the corona, such as fever. His pregnant girlfriend was also sick, but she is on the mend.
