London Schools Closed by Poisonous Black Widow Spiders

Four schools in the east of London were closed after the presence of black widows, the poisonous spider species was determined.

 

The children were asked to stay at home.

A bite from a black widow is not life-threatening but can cause severe irritation. That is why the four schools are closed until October 29 at the earliest.

“This morning a metastasis of spiders was established in the school,” wrote the director of one of the schools.
