At Least Thirteen Dead in Attack in Syrian Security Zone. At least 13 people died in a car bomb attack in the Syrian city of Tell Abyad near the Turkish border.
More than thirty people were injured, Turkish state media and a Syrian human rights organisation reported. The explosion was in the centre of the city, which is located in the so-called security zone that Turkey has set up in northern Syria.
Among the victims would be both civilians and pro-Turkish fighters. According to the Turkish army, the Kurdish YPG is behind the attack.
Turkey entered northern Syria last month to push back the Kurdish militias. The “invasion area” has been renamed a security zone for a week, where Turkish and Russian troops are jointly carrying out patrols.
