Apple Expects to Make Fewer iPhones

This year, Apple will produce millions fewer iPhones than originally planned. Bloomberg news agency states that at least 3 million iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus devices are involved.

According to insiders, the lower production is mainly due to falling demand. The company now expects 87 million devices this year, whereas the production of at least 90 million of the latest iPhones was previously expected.

What’s bothering the company are the cheaper alternatives that consumers are turning to. An additional problem for Apple is a corona infection in one of its factories in China, which has disrupted production.

Apple reported on Sunday that production of its high-quality iPhone 14 models, the Pro and Pro Max, is lower than previously anticipated. However, the company said demand for the Pro and Pro Max models remained strong without addressing the demand for the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus models.

Apple previously cancelled plans to ramp up production of its latest iPhones.
