Britons do not seem to care about the government’s advice not to travel to countries with orange travel advice due to the roaming coronavirus. That is what Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary says to the British newspaper Mail on Sunday.
According to O’Leary, families will book flights to restricted destinations pending further relaxation as soon as they can go on vacation. “Everyone realizes that the restrictions will be phased out by the end of June, July and August,” he told the newspaper.
Ryanair, the most significant price fighter in Europe, had already registered 1.75 million bookings for the summer period up to Friday.
The Irish airline expects to be at 90 percent of the pre-corona crisis level in terms of bookings in September. According to Ryanair, travel in Europe will be back to normal by autumn if no further virus hurdles need to be overcome.
Ryanair also plans to purchase hundreds of new aircraft and add new routes. The society also wants to expand on its various bases.
