The jihadists Thursday conducted the first attack against the village Pulka, on the border with Cameroon, where they abducted 18 girls.

The fighters’ arrived around 6:00 pm in a pickup truck and took them 14 girls aged 17 and younger when residents tried to flee into the woods, “said a local representative. “They also seized four girls who had fled into the woods on the outskirts of the village.”

According to the charge made the attackers are part of the department of Abu Mosab Al Baranoui, by terror group Islamic State last year – which Boko Haram swore allegiance in 2015 – was named the leader of the group instead of Abubakar Shekau.

The second incident took place on Friday near the village of Dumba, on the shores of Lake Chad, once a shepherd had refused to pay the jihadists in exchange for protection, said Adamu Ahmed, who is a member of an anti-Boko Haram- militia.

In April 2014 Boko Haram abducted 276 girls in Chibok. In January this year, it was announced that 195 of them are still in the hands of the group.

The replacement of Shekau has passed through Barnaoui to tensions within Boko Haram. Shekau was criticized for his massacres and suicide attacks against civilians.

Barnaoui and his right hand Mamman Nur, who is considered by many as the true leader had warned civilians in the zone controlled by the group that nothing would happen to them as long as they cooperate with the Nigerian army.

However, recent weeks have been combatants increased the number of attacks against villages in Chad, including by looting the food reserves of the inhabitants. They also have slain several citizens who have transferred information accusing the army.
