Samsung Suspends Deliveries to Russia
Samsung is suspending deliveries of smartphones and computer chips to Russia, among other things, due to the war in Ukraine. The South Korean technology giant announced this on Saturday.
Earlier, Apple and Microsoft, among others, already made similar decisions.
Samsung says it is monitoring the complex geopolitical situation after the Russian invasion of Ukraine and has now decided not to send consumer electronics and computer chips to Russia for the time being.
The company is also donating $6 million, including $1 million in electronics products, for humanitarian aid in the region.
In Russia, Samsung is the largest smartphone seller with more than 30 percent market share. The country represents 4 percent of the global smartphone market. However, the market for semiconductors is smaller.
