American Airlines warns of fuel shortages during the busy summer season in the United States due to a lack of drivers for fuel trucks and also trucks to transport jet fuel.

According to news channel CNBC, the company, therefore, asks the pilots to use kerosene as economically as possible.

Due to the strong recovery of aviation in the United States, the demand for kerosene is increasing faster than previously thought. According to American Airlines, this previously mainly affected cities in the west of the country but is now becoming a problem throughout the US.

The airline says planes are now carrying more fuel onboard to destinations with shortages or will interrupt flights to stock up on extra fuel at airports where possible.

Delta Air Lines says there are problems with fuel delivery delays at some smaller airports in the western US, but this has not yet disrupted flight schedules.
