Vladimir Putin Strikes Back as Russia Expels More than 100 Western Diplomats. Moscow will show the same number of diplomats as Western countries have done with Russians. That said the Russian minister Sergej Lavrov.
Lavrov responded to the measures taken by the countries because of the nerve gas attack on the Russian ex-double spice Skripal and his daughter in London. Several countries recently decided to expel Russian diplomats because of that nerve gas attack. More than 150 Russian diplomats were expelled.
According to Lavrov, Russian countermeasures are based on ‘reciprocity.’ “They include the expulsion of an equivalent number of diplomats,” the Minister said, including the US consulate in St. Petersburg, which previously announced the closure of the Russian consulate in Seattle.
Russia still denies any involvement in the attack on Skripal with a chemical that has ever been developed in the Soviet Union. Moscow states that the British who want to leave the European Union to abuse the Skripal case to damage EU-Russia relations.
