Zelensky: Attacks Show Russia Does Not Want Peace

US President Donald Trump had a “very good phone conversation” with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump writes on Truth Social.

He reportedly updated Zelensky on his conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, in which Putin promised that Russia would not attack Ukrainian power plants for the next thirty days.

Trump and Zelensky spoke on the phone for about an hour on Wednesday. Trump writes that he now wants Russia and Ukraine to “get on the same page” about a ceasefire. “We are very much on track,” the Republican said.

As far as is known, it was the first conversation between Trump and Zelensky since the row in the White House. Zelensky had come to Washington in late February to sign a deal on raw materials but was mainly told that he showed too little gratitude for all the American support.

Later, Zelensky expressed his gratitude again clearly via social media, and the relationship seems to have improved somewhat for now.
