The United Kingdom will also vaccinate citizens with a second corona vaccine from Monday.
According to the NHS health service, the agent from the University of Oxford and the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca will be delivered first to a handful of hospitals.
Later in the week, hundreds of other vaccination centres should also have access to the vaccine.
The United Kingdom already started vaccinating citizens against the coronavirus last month. It was the first country to give the green light to the use of the vaccine from Pfizer and BioNtech, which was later also approved by the EU.
The NHS says it has once again achieved a world-first with the introduction of the AstraZeneca drug.
The British authorities want to significantly increase the number of vaccination sites in the coming week. The country now has about 700 vaccination posts. According to the NHS, hundreds should be added in the short term.
