Stock Futures Point to Lower Wall Street Open this Monday. The stock exchanges in New York started Monday at the end of the new trading week, with which the loss series from the end of last week will be followed up.

 

The Dow Jones index was 0.4 percent lower in the opening minutes at 26,333 points. The broader composite S & P 500 dropped 0.3 percent to 2876 points. Technologiegraadmeter Nasdaq delivered 0.6 percent to 7742 points.

Last week, sharply rising interest rates on US government bonds caused considerable pressure on stock trading. On Monday, the trade in government bonds in the United States was closed due to Columbus Day.

GE Capital, the investment division of the industrial conglomerate General Electric (GE), announced that it was selling a package of investments in, among other things, sustainable energy to investor Apollo. According to the parties, investments are worth about 1 billion dollars. GE rose 2.8 percent.

There was also some takeover news. The offshore oil drilling companies Ensco and Rowan will merge into a company with a value of 12 billion dollars. Ensco (flat) pays $ 2.4 billion to take over its smaller rival Rowan (plus 1.8 percent).
