Payment company PayPal has had another excellent quarter because people shopped online much more due to the corona pandemic.

This resulted in a lot of extra payments for PayPal.

Sales increased by 25 percent to 5.5 billion dollars. At the bottom of the line, 1 billion dollars remained, compared to 462 million dollars in profit a year earlier.

PayPal also reports that all payments through the company accounted for $ 247 billion. That is 38 percent more than a year earlier. In addition, more than 15 million new accounts were opened on balance.

The latter is less than average analysts expected. The company has also moderated its financial expectations for the year as a whole.

Investors, therefore, do not seem satisfied. In the so-called aftermarket trading on the New York stock exchange, the share fell sharply.
