A person in the Democratic Republic of Congo is positively tested for Ebola. This has been announced today by the Ministry of Health in the African country. The person has died since.
The life-threatening disease came to light when nine patients in the north-east of the country were taken with high fever. That happened around April 22. Meanwhile, two of the other patients have also passed away.
The area where the disease was detected is very sparsely populated. According to a UN spokeswoman, it is “luck in an accident.”
In 2014, an Ebola epidemic occurred in West Africa. Over 28,000 people died, more than 11,000 died there. In Congo, “only” died a few dozens of the disease.
