Netflix Drops Prices in 100 Countries
Netflix has reduced the price of its subscriptions in more than 100 countries. However, it mainly concerns low-income regions where the streaming service has few customers.
Netflix confirmed that it is adjusting prices in certain countries. According to the Wall Street Journal, these are countries worldwide.
In Europe, customers in Eastern European countries such as Croatia, Slovenia and Bulgaria should pay less. In some cases, Netflix halved the price, the newspaper says.
According to research firm Ampere Analysis, more than 10 million of the more than 230 million subscribers will receive a price reduction. Previously, Netflix had already lowered prices in India and some countries in Southeast Asia, where growth stalled.
Netflix is also rolling out cheaper subscriptions in various countries where viewers must tolerate advertisements. The company is also testing ways to prevent customers from sharing their passwords with others.
