Zelensky: Attacks Show Russia Does Not Want Peace

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has condemned a new wave of Russian drone attacks on his country.

“Launching such large-scale attacks after negotiations on a ceasefire is a clear signal to the world that Moscow does not intend to strive for real peace,” he writes on X.

Ukrainian authorities say that Russia carried out attacks with 117 drones during the night. Zelensky, facing American pressure to negotiate, says that such attacks show Russia is not taking the peace initiative seriously.

“Since March 11, there has been an American proposal for a complete ceasefire, a complete stop to all attacks. And literally every night, Russia continues to say no to our partner’s peace proposal through its attacks.”

Zelensky says many of the 117 drones were shot down, but damage was still caused to homes and businesses.
