US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un met again today in Pyongyang. The meeting was supposed to take place in August, but it was cancelled at the request of President Donald Trump.
Pompeo arrived today in the North Korean capital Pyongyang. The purpose of the trip is not only to discuss further the dismantling of the Kim Jong-un nuclear program but also to arrange a possible second meeting between Kim and Trump.
“I had a pleasant trip to Pyongyang to meet with President Kim. We continue to make progress in the agreements that were made earlier during the Singapore summit, “says Pompeo, together with a photo of him and Kim Jong-un.
It is the fourth time that Pompeo has travelled to North Korea and the second time he meets the leader. The trip was scheduled for late August, but President Trump asked his minister to cancel the trip.
