Microsoft and Snap are Dropping Congresses for Developers
Microsoft and Snap, the company behind the Snapchat app, have decided to cancel their developer conferences. The reason is the spread of the new coronavirus.
Google previously decided to keep its conference I / O online only. Facebook’s F8 stock exchange was also scrapped.
Microsoft Build is scheduled to be held May 19-21 in the US city of Seattle. It was severely affected by the coronavirus.
The Developer Congress is now only held online. Snap is scheduled to hold a Partner Summit in Los Angeles in early April. That may be made up later.
Apple also has its own developer conference, WWDC. However, the dates of this year’s edition have not yet been announced, so it is not clear whether the iPhone maker will continue his event. Apple usually holds WWDC in the first week of June.
Such conferences draw thousands of software developers and tech journalists from all over the world. Tech companies use such events to present new products and services.
