Google has removed insulting reviews about McDonald’s after the suspect in the murder of insurance CEO Brian Thompson was arrested in a branch of the fast food chain.
A customer recognized him and alerted an employee to his presence, after which the police were called.
The negative reactions aimed at McDonald’s are the latest example of ‘review bombing,’ in which a company is flooded with lousy Google reviews because of a political position or an event that has nothing to do with its activities.
