McDonald’s Flooded With Negative Reviews After Arrest

Google has removed insulting reviews about McDonald’s after the suspect in the murder of insurance CEO Brian Thompson was arrested in a branch of the fast food chain.

A customer recognized him and alerted an employee to his presence, after which the police were called.

The negative reactions aimed at McDonald’s are the latest example of ‘review bombing,’ in which a company is flooded with lousy Google reviews because of a political position or an event that has nothing to do with its activities.

The murder of the CEO of UnitedHealthcare unleashed a wave of frustration among Americans who have had health insurance claims or care denied, who have been faced with unexpected costs or whose premiums have gone up.

In this case, the negative and one-star reviews appeared after 26-year-old Luigi Mangione was arrested at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania. “This place has rats in the kitchen that make you sick, and your insurance won’t cover it,” one review read.
