Computer manufacturer Lenovo has expanded its ThinkPad portfolio with several laptops in the T, X and L series. Some of the new features that stand out are Modern Standby, Wake on Voice and support for WiFi 6.
The 14 and 15-inch models of the updated ThinkPad T series are available with Windows 10 Pro and are powered by the tenth generation Intel Core vPro or AMD Ryzen PRO 4000 Mobile. The work laptop has the new Modern Standby function: an always-on and always-connected experience like a smartphone.
The system stays connected in this mode and synchronizes data at low power. The user can quickly resume work at any time, possibly also via a voice command thanks to the new Wake on Voice feature.
The device also supports WiFi 6 and (optional) CAT 16 WWAN for 4G / LTE connections. The new WiFi 6 standard is specially designed to maintain optimum connection speeds on saturated wireless networks. The new WPA3 security protocol should make cybercriminals even harder to crack passwords.
In the ThinkPad X series, both the X13 and X13 Yoga can be configured with a Full HD ePrivacy display that protects users from looking over the shoulder. The X13 Yoga also includes a Dolby Audio speaker system and – as an option – a 4K OLED screen with Dolby Vision.
The ThinkPad X13 Yoga and X13 come with the tenth generation Intel Core vPro, but the X13 is also available with an AMD Ryzen PRO 4000 Mobile processor. Due to their well-thought-out hinge system, the Yoga devices from Lenovo have the property that they can be used as a notebook and as a tablet.
Finally, according to Lenovo, the ThinkPad L series has become thinner and lighter across the board. Users have WiFi 6 and optional 4G / LTE connectivity, and special keys for communication functions (on ThinkPad the L14 and L15) that should make it easier to participate in meetings.
Also on board: Windows 10 Pro, a fingerprint reader with support for Windows Hello and a choice of the tenth generation of Intel Core vPro power sources or AMD Ryzen PRO 4000 Mobile processors.
