Economic Recovery in France Slower Than Expected

The pace of economic recovery in France is slowing. That emerges from a report by the central bank of France.

In July, economic activity was 7 percent below average. A month earlier, that was 9 percent.

However, a similar level to July or a marginal improvement is expected for August.

The French central bank’s monthly report confirms an earlier forecast that the recovery will continue steadily after a jump in May due to the lifting of corona measures.

Forecasts on the services sector and industry, among other things, point to a stabilization of growth in August.

The construction sector appears to be improving slightly this month, with activities returning to almost the level of the crisis.
