British Crown Prince Charles (71) is infected with the coronavirus. That confirms a spokeswoman for the royal house.
The 71-year-old heir apparent suffers from “mild symptoms, but is otherwise in good health,” said a statement. “He’s been working from home for the past few days, as usual.”
His wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, has also been tested but does not have the virus. The royal couple is home in isolation at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. The tests were conducted by the British health service NHS.
“It is not clear by whom he was infected,” the statement continues. “He has had many meetings in the past few weeks as part of his public role.”
His mother, Queen Elizabeth (93), has no complaints, Buckingham Palace said in comments.
The 93-year-old princess last saw her oldest son on the morning of March 12, the palace reports. “She adheres to all the advice that is prescribed for her health.”
