British Ambassador calls Trump Incompetent in Leaked Memos

The British ambassador to the US, Kim Darroch, calls the US government incompetent, insecure and incompetent. This is evident from leaked e-mails that the Mail on Sunday received.

Ambassador Kim Darroch’s memos date from 2017 to now. The British ambassador advises government members to flatter Trump. “Trump, a man who has ascended to the most important office on the planet, radiates uncertainty.”

Besides, he advises government members to believe the news stories about the power struggle in the White House, although Trump always calls it fake news himself.

“The stories about the knife fights in the White House are, we believe, mostly true. Our contacts in the White House confirm this. This is a unique dysfunctional environment. “

The ambassador also does not expect it to improve. In 2017 he wrote that he does not believe that the government will become “substantially more normal, less dysfunctional, less unpredictable, less torn, less diplomatically awkward and incapable.”

The British should not write off Trump in advance, because he has been mentioned in scandals for almost his entire life and gets away with it. “Trump can resurface from the flames, battered but intact, like Schwarzenegger in the final scenes of The Terminator.”

Re-Election of Trump in 2020 does not exclude the British ambassador. In a memo last month, he writes that his diehard fans are just as enthusiastic as in 2016 and that his Republican party is “right behind him.” “That much depends on who the Democrats choose in July 2020.”

In a reaction, the British Foreign Ministry says that the British public “can expect our ambassadors to give ministers a fair, straightforward assessment of the political situation in their countries.”

“Their vision is not necessarily that of the ministers or the government,” said the Foreign Office. “But we pay them to be sincere, just as the US ambassador here will send his views on politics and personalities in Westminster.”
