At least eight people have been killed in a shooting at a university in the Russian city of Perm. Reports about the shooter’s fate are contradictory.
The perpetrator has been disabled, but it is still unclear whether he was killed or arrested.
The suspect is reportedly a university student. The motive for the shooting is unknown. In addition to the fatalities, there are also injuries.
Students and teachers locked themselves in classrooms, according to Russian media. Video footage shows people jumping from windows to escape the building.
Perm is located about 1,300 kilometres east of the Russian capital Moscow.
