Apple Facing Lawsuit Over Heart Rate Sensor in Apple Watch. The company Omni MedSci filed a complaint against Apple. In the Apple Watch, patented technology would be used for the heart rate monitor.

 

Omni MedSci is a health startup from the American Michigan. The company claims that it has sat around the table several times with Apple for collaboration between 2014 and 2016. That did not matter, but Apple would have used technology that was patented by Omni MedSci.

The company filed a lawsuit in Texas. In it, Omni MedSci claims that Apple knowingly committed a patent infringement. The startup wants Apple to stop using the technology and hopes for compensation.

Apple presented the first Apple Watch in 2015. From the beginning model, the smartwatch has a built-in heart rate monitor.
