Nvidia to Pull Out of Russia Altogether
Chipmaker Nvidia is still shutting down its activities in Russia. The company previously announced that it would no longer sell products in the country, but it still had offices in the country.
As a result, they are now closing their doors.
In a statement that the company shared with various media, Nvidia said it had kept its offices in Russia open so far to support employees and their families.
The company writes that it can no longer continue to operate effectively in Russia due to recent developments. That’s why all offices in Russia are closing now.
The company reports that employees who are active in these offices can work for Nvidia from another country. How realistic that remains to be seen. Many flights are already fully booked because many Russians are trying to flee the country after mobilizing troops.
International sanctions, such as closing airspaces to Russian aircraft, also have an impact.
