Amazon Denies It Would Soon Accept Bitcoins
E-commerce giant Amazon has denied rumours that it would soon accept bitcoin as a means of payment. However, reports about this pushed the price of that cryptocurrency higher on Monday, towards $ 40,000.
According to City AM’s website, Amazon is expected to accept bitcoins before the end of the year.
The business newspaper also claimed that the US company is working on its own cryptocurrency, which it would launch in 2022. But Amazon denied it, although it admitted remaining interested in the cryptocurrency market.
Recently, Amazon posted a job ad for a responsible digital currency and blockchain. “We believe in new technology that allows fast and secure payment,” he said.
Bitcoin’s price had fallen sharply recently, but last week it rose again by almost thirty percent.
