The Japanese government has put an emergency plan into operation. It spends more than 15 million euros of food for the victims and assistance to reception centres.
Thousands of homes have no water and electricity, and there are long lines for distribution points where drinking water is distributed. Meanwhile, the sun has returned after the storm, and with 35 degrees the people waiting now run the risk of sunstroke.
