A 500-kilogram bomb from World War II was defused in eastern Berlin on Thursday evening. For this, 15,000 residents were evacuated from 27 apartment blocks, the police said.
The police confirmed on Twitter that the bomb was defused and that all restrictions have been lifted in the meantime.
Among other things, three nurseries, three schools, one after-school care and several shops were evacuated.
On Tuesday, workers stumbled upon the bomb at a tennis court in the east of the city. 350 police officers were deployed in the evacuation.
